It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. ~ Alan Cohen
Every now and then, change comes along and, like a warm spring breeze, ruffles your hair. It reminds you that, like the winds, you're not bound to one thing..or place.
So..take a deep breath and enjoy the breeze..follow it. Run wild. Don't let anything hold you back.
The things around you..sometimes..they're all what you make of them.
So close your eyes tonight and go with the whispering of the wind.
You never know where it might take you.
XOXO,

Currently laying in a hammock out at our house on the island.
Beautiful day..
Amazing frozen bucket margarita is almost done from yesterday..
Feet aching tired from dancing all night..
So totally worth it.

Today is a Good Day..
Last night I slept for six hours. A full night for me.
I woke up to the most amazing guy in the world.
I had a crazy delicious breakfast..
I walked to work because the weather is so beautiful..
I have, so far, had a quiet day at work..
I am now getting a spa pedicure..
I think I'll be making steak salad for dinner..so I'll be stopping to pick up a bottle of wine tonight..
On my way back to work, I think I'm goin to stop off and get a frozen yogurt.
I feel good. Really good.
Maybe I just needed some sun and warm weather to cheer me up.
:)
Hope you're all having a great day too!!

today..
Today you should thank someone.
Thank someone who loves you for..loving you.
Thank someone who hates you for..making you stronger.
Thank someone who, in one way or another, has touched Ýour life.
Even the bad, hurtful, terrible things in this world make us who we are.
:)
I'll start.
Thank you!!!

I Miss You...
How come..these are the hardest words to say?
Why is it so easy to say other things..but not the things that matter?
Ponder that today.
Maybe find someone your heart genuinely does miss..and tell them.
You never know where life will take you from there.
:)

Testing..Testing..
Consider this BEYOND a rough draft. A snapshot of something I started.......
Laila tapped on her Blackberry slowly as she leaned against the reception desk at Blake Hill Galleries on the corner of 77th and Madison. “Sweetie, you need to get rid of those things, they cause premature aging” Susan Keates strolled through the pristine glass door and narrowed her blue eyes at her friend. Almost thirty years older than the petite brunette – but not looking a single day over 35, the blonde curator took Laila’s Blackberry away and tossed it into her purse. “You get it back after we eat” she sighed, ushering her out of the door.
“Yes, mom” Laila mocked, her laughter echoing through the gallery halls. They stepped out onto the sunny street and looked around.
“You’re glowing” Susan murmured as she hailed a cab gracefully, her blonde hair blowing across her face. Laila squinted at her slowly.
“Am I?”
“You always glow after you shop. It’s your trademark, honey” Laila exploded in laughter as they got into the cab and directed him to Asia de Cuba.
“You caught me. I went to see Mona. I got THE hottest red dress for Ella’s party tonight.”
“I love Mona – I’d marry her if it was legal in New York.”
“You’re already married” Laila reminded Susan, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
“Sure. But in no way is Kevin as useful as Mona is!” Even the cab driver laughed at the statement. Susan tucked her Versace sunglasses into her bag and smoothed her hair. Their friendship was an odd one. What seemed like ages ago, Laila’s best friend from college, Owen, had dated Susan. At first, Laila disapproved over their age difference and, of course, Susan’s marital status. But when Owen took them both to Saks and they fawned over the same Michael Kors bag, their friendship blossomed. And when Owen died in a car accident the night before his 25th birthday, the two women sat in the ER waiting room holding hands - and in that stunned silence, a powerful bond was formed. They were confidants; seeking comfort in each other when life became too rough. Susan encouraged Laila to overlook the age difference with Walker and give him a chance, and in turn, Laila encouraged Susan to work on her marriage. Through the men and the style seasons, they stayed friends and every year on Owen’s birthday they went to visit his grave with a bottle of tequila and a special box filled with all of their favorite photos from the year to “show” him. And now, communication was daily; between phone calls, e-mails, texts and meetings, Laila was never hesitant to say that Susan was her best friend.
“I saw Alex this week. First time in ages. He looks so…haggared.” Laila spoke between bites of calamari salad.
“And was he drooling over you? Eyes glazed over?” Susan laughed.
“Oh behave!”
“If you can’t see that he is completely and totally in lust with you, then you’re blind, babe.” Laila ate her salad in deep thought for a moment.
“Theirs is a very…unsettling marriage” she finally spoke.
“Why? Because they clearly do NOT love each other right now?”
“Well…yes. I love Walker. And Walker loves me. And…I just feel like…”
“Not all marriages are black and white. Some people stay together because it’s better than being alone. Doesn’t mean they didn’t love each other at one time” Susan swallowed the last of her Diet Coke and leaned back in her seat.
“I know that. But they WERE so happy. And then everything went downhill from there so quickly.”
“I’m going to take a shot and say that it was Cassie’s weekend in the Hamptons with Jack Knoller? That about the time?” Laila thought for a moment and nodded slowly. Jack Knoller was a famed mystery novelist with sandy blonde hair that fell over his wicked blue eyes. His body was a perfectly sculpted gym body, with a perfectly sculpted model always hanging off of it. Cassie knew Jack from college, and they’d always kept in touch. Last summer after his book tour in Europe ended, he returned to New York and invited Cassie up to his house in East Hampton.
“Oh my god…do you think they…”
“I know Jack. He’s a great writer, but he’s a notorious womanizer. And I’ll bet anything that Alex found out.” Susan shook her head.
“Did you know all this time and not tell me?!” Laila gasped after a moment of processing.
“I figured you two were friends, and if that was the case, she would have told you something.”
“Well, shit. Explains so much. Oh my god. I wonder if that’s why everything went sour because…she and Jack got dirty…”
“Well, things will sweeten up tonight. Jack’s going to be at Ella’s party.”
“Oh..ehm..gee” Laila gasped and ate her salad in silence for a moment. “Why would Alex stay with her if she cheated?” Susan smiled across at Laila for a moment.
“Everyone has their own secrets, Laila. Maybe Alex isn’t as innocent as you’d like to think?”
“You are one wise Yoda” Laila murmured in awe. Susan laughed and swiped the bill before Laila could reach for it.
“You have much to learn, Little Grasshopper” she smiled and stuck her platinum American Express into the leather folder and handed it to the waiter. “And much will be learned tonight” she arched an eyebrow and sighed.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things....
Actually, moments from vacation..LOL! I started this on the plane (clearly, I don't sleep on planes like normal people).
1. Realizing my GPS (which I rarely ever use in NY) always says..keep left, turn right. That makes for some VERY interesting driving, let me tell you.
2. Pulling into the McDonalds drive-thru with a car PACKED with people..realizing..we drove past the ordering board, and were now sitting on line waiting for food we didn't order.
3. Pulling up to the McDonalds window and then speeding by hysterically laughing because..well..we never ordered anything - what were we picking up?
4. Going to a Denny's for the FIRST time in my life.
5. Sitting on the balcony, watching the sun rise in complete and total silence. Something about it is picture worthy..but getting up to get a camera to take a picture..somehow ruins the moment.
6. Wanting to KISS Bev for sending me the address to the outlets out in LV that were 15 minutes away from me - especially since the ones I got from the concierge were 45 minutes away. :)
7. Of course..shopping at the outlets - come on..a Dolce outlet? Who wouldn't be in heaven?
8. Taking this picture:
9. Not taking/answering ONE work related e-mail, voicemail or text.
10. Thinking..time on the West Coast moves a hell of a lot slower than it does on the East Coast. Bitches.
:) S'all for now.
XOXO,
B

when all the world sleeps
Even in a different time zone I'm awake..watching the sun rise.
Maybe it's the beauty of night to morning that keeps me up..
Or the surreal silence.
That moment of just having the wolrd to yourself....
That's perfection.

Oh Good Lord..
Well, this week has been a crazy one.
Sunday I logged off of SL violently ill. So I haven't eaten much since Saturday - needless to say I am now 6 pounds lighter.
I crawled into work on Tuesday to find that one of the companies I do business with, had just placed an exclusive deal with a competitor of mine - a deal that was a) illegal according to New York State Law and b) completely a slap in the face to a recent agreement worked out with me.
So, my blood pressure hit the ROOF.
This deal - while it was crap - could cost me several of my medium sized accounts or hundreds of thousands of dollars if I did retain the clients.
So I've had..issues driving me nuts for the last few weeks.
And finally, this week, I think I just lost my temper with everyone on everything.
I beyond exploded at the company representative who smugly told me that there was nothing wrong with this deal..and that he had every right to do it.
By nature, I don't pick fights. I walk away. I..walk away and I think it through. But walking out on a lovers fight and walking out on a meeting..two different things.
So, before I walked out of the meeting - the first time in my professional career that I have ever WALKED out on fucking bullshit meeting - I told him that I am not about to start a pissing contest. And he smiled. Because..he thought I was giving up. So I leaned in very close..and said, in the softest voice I could muster..that if it was a war with me that he wanted, so be it. I wouldn't just pull SOME business. I'd pull it all. Go ahead and test me. I'm all bite, no bark.
And that was it.
I walked out. I left a room of people sitting there..completely mortified.
And today as I sat at my desk thinking of how I could apologize..and undo this complete act of insanity..I got a call to tell me, the agreement with my competitor had been pulled. Just. Like. That. I was told..war with me was never the intention, and that this was never thought all the way through. And..
I won.
HAHAHHA!
I put my feet up on my desk today and I laughed because..for the first time in a long time, I WON.
My thoughts are all choppy..because it's late..and I still don't feel well.
But you know. :)
Just like IMing me, I guess.

A Jumbled..Bumbled..Brain!
A nice..reminder:
http://www.baby-faith.com/?s=drippy
I love this picture. It says "Life is What You Make it...All You Need Is a Little Faith.."
The website's cute. I found it googling BUBBLES!
So, this weekend has, like many others, passed by in a blur!
My sleep's back to eratic. As usual, it'll pass on its own.
Yesterday I went to Citi Field for the first time - it was chilly..but the new stadium is beautiful. Sadly, it's not Shea, though. It feels so..cold. Nothing like Shea; the memories are missing - I think that's what really bothers me about it.
I hopped on in time to make Mikki's fashion show - which was a blast. I didn't fall off of the stage, but I came darn close.
After running in several circles, I ran out of the house to attend a surprise party for my uncle's 50th birthday. Started out HORRIBLE, but once the DJ took over, it was worth the wait. Since I was the designated driver, I crammed everyone into my car and returned them all home safe and sound. Whew. (True Quote!)
Cousin: Slow it down - I can't die tonight.
Me: So you have acceptable times of day to die?
Cousin: I have a thong on with Minnie Mouse on it. Paramedics will have a field day with me.
Me: I have a hole in my tights. Right on the butt.
Cousin: I can see the headlines now. "Beautiful Girls in Bizarre Undergarments die in Speeding BMW Crash."
Boyfriend: So the four others in the car..won't get mentioned?
Me: "Beautiful Girls in Bizarre Undergarments and Others Die in Speeding BMW Crash".
Boyfriend: Oh that's just great.
Cousin: We could skip the headlines and you could JUST slow down.
Me: This is slow.
It was fun - nice night out, though. I always have fun when a certain group of us hang out.
Another night of tossing and turning..
Then this morning we spread a blanket on the roof and had a quiet picnic breakfast with the sun rising beyond the park. I love it..the sky turns this beautiful purple-ish shade..and then pink..then orange..and then viola! The sun is there. It just warms your skin..your soul..your everything. Something about the Spring makes you feel pretty damn good, I think. The winter drags me down, I think. New York looks cold and gray in the winter.
Anyway! Then I ran back downstairs and grabbed bubbles.
You know..little kid bubbles? The messy, soapy..great little bottle of joy?
Yeah. I bought six for my nephew - don't ask.
So I grabbed two..and we sat on the roof blowing bubbles for the longest time. Seems funny, doesn't it ? That the simple act of blowing bubbles..like a little kid..would make you feel so good.
But it did. And it's one of those things..that kind of reminds you of where your head should be in life.
The secret of a good life..is hidden in a bubble?
We wandered over to the park for a short walk..the weather was AMAZING today.
Good weather..it always puts me in a great mood.
So this afternoon, Moo and I had coffee. :) I shut the door on all IMs..and decided to let everyone have a Blissie free afternoon. So it was just us, just hanging out quietly. No clubs, no DJs, no nada. My favorite way to spend my time with Moo.
I suggest everyone take some time away and just relax too.
Does a heart good. :)
XOXO,
B

Good weather..it always puts me in a great mood.
So this afternoon, Moo and I had coffee. :) I shut the door on all IMs..and decided to let everyone have a Blissie free afternoon. So it was just us, just hanging out quietly. No clubs, no DJs, no nada. My favorite way to spend my time with Moo.
I suggest everyone take some time away and just relax too.
Does a heart good. :)

Taking Over NYC......
So..last night Bev and I took over the NYC sim.
So, I called her on my cell, told her I was going to meet for a field trip to Central Park.
I hopped on the train and rode up to her place.
But when we got uptown, it was so dusty! So we took out our brooms and tried to clean up. A cleaner New York is everyone's responsibility, you know.
We swept blocks and blocks, trying to clean up the mess the tourists made..
It was so much, we had to split up a few times to make things go faster.
After we were done, we went up to this great sushi restaurant - but it was deserted! I guess the chef called in sick. So I decided to slice and dice some stuff for Bev..
So we ate, and then headed out for a stroll. On the way, we met these two guys. They were really nice, and we both knew they were celebrities..but we couldn't remember who they were! So we smiled politely while they danced for us..
We were lucky enough to stumble upon St. Patrick's Cathedral..which was beautiful as always. We put in a good word for each other with the Big Guy..
Then we were HUNGRY again! So we hopped up on the snack stand and grabbed some grub. The poor teenage vendor was so floored by our beauty, he passed out behind the counter.
Then I piggybacked Bev through the park. It's a good workout for your abs and stuff..but it's hell on your knees! OMG! :) Love ya, Bev.
Mr. Moo made a brief cameo, showed us his longjohns and then poofed to bed. So Bev and I laid out on the raft in Central Park and relaxed for a while.
All in all, we had a great day in Manhattan. And I only had to tell Bev not to shout hello to strangers once. It IS New York, after all.
:) Of course we shopped to wrap our day up. I don't know if we left anything in the cute boutique..but hey - what are GNO's for?
Hope you had a good day too!
XOXO,
