Uh
Just left the Royalton..
Had cocktails seated next to Adrien Brody - who took my reserved spot and APOLOGIZED for it.
Some days..it's totally worth it to be me!

Perez, Bullies and..Demi Lovato?
http://perezhilton.com/2009-05-06-a-worthwhile-cause-341
I love the concept. Anyone that has ever seen a kid be bullied or has ever been bullied, this is a great attempt at trying to put a stop to it. I love that it calls for parental involvement too!
Perez recently posted on his site comments that Demi Lovato made via Twitter about having to be homeschooled because she was bullied so horribly. She went on to comment about the deaths of two young people recently - suicides - as a result of bullying.
I can't imagine what it must feel like to be 11 and feel so helpless about bullies that I want to KILL myself. I grew up pretty lucky - I have more than enough siblings that I was NEVER picked on. And as I got older, I figured out how to hold my own without anyone backing me up. Now, as an adult, I still don't back down. I still believe that nobody has the right to put you down or hurt you - in any way. Bullies exist everywhere - from schools to supermarkets. But they only have the power you give them in life. That was lesson 45 from my dad, the best dad ever. I don't have kids of my own, but the little kids around me mean the world to me and I try very hard to convey to them what was taught to me as a child. You are special. You are loved. Nobody has the right to make you feel any other way.
So that's my soap box post for the day..while I sit trapped in my office since everyone's out with a stomach bug.
Hope you enjoyed.
P.S. - I would be Perez Hilton's neighbor if he'd let me - I love his awesome sense of self. ROFL

Plan B
So, this morning we went to my folks for Sunday breakfast - something we've decided to make the norm in our family. The weather's nice, it's a great way to start the week with all of us together - I get to play with my niece and my nephew - which I love.
So ANYWAY!
My parents went to see Suzy Toronto yesterday, which I always find funny. My mom never keeps this stuff for herself - she bags all kinds of things and leaves it for me to take home. But this was actually cute.
Suzy Toronto (http://www.suzytoronto.com/) writes these cute books with poetry/mantras, etc. The kind of thing that kind of helps pick you up when you're feeling kinda crappy.
So my mom had her autograph her latest book, "Wacky, Wonderful Women" for me and she brought it back with a TON of placards, magnets, notecards, etc. So I hit the website, and Suzy's always talking about Plan B.
I opened the Daily News and the vacation section says..Plan B.
So, I can take a hint. :) What is Plan B, you ask?
"Life is All About How you Handle Plan B. Plan A is always my first choice. You know, the one where Everything works out to be Happily ever-after. But more often than not, I find myself dealing with The upside-down, inside-out version -- Where nothing goes as it should. It's at this point that the real Test of my character comes in.. Do I sink, or do I swim? Do I wallow in self pity and play the victim, Or simply shift gears And make the best of the situation? The choice is all mine... Life is all about how you handle Plan B." - Suzy Toronto
This is the print my mom brought back for me (though this time, she brought back one for all of us girls..just different ones to suit our personalities..).

"Have you ever noticed how few people really live their lives?
They seem to just go through the motions
Looking towards next week or next month for some type of relief.
Instead decide to live fully every day of your life.
Proclaim today as your day,
And this very instant to be your moment for the taking..
For this day will never come again.
Next week and next month will still come,
But by tomorrow..today will be gone forever."
:) I hope you check out the site, for inspiration, if anything at all.
Thanks, mom!
XOXO,
B

Remember Where You Came From..
After reading the lovely Joonie's blog, I started to think.
Yeah, I think every now and then.
Sometimes, even if you can't go "home", you can remember.
You can remember where you came from..
How you got where you are..
And where you want to be.
But the point is..look past the stuff in the middle - the things that made you walk away, the things that made you hurt - and remember how everything was when you started.
I'm on a mission these days to just figure me out. And have fun at my own pace..and in my own way. I'm spending my time making my own visions a little more of a reality.
But..I like to think that I've never forgotten where I came from and how I got here. And I carry that with me - because if you forget where you came from..how will you ever know where you're going?
I think everyone should do the same.
Visit an old haunt. :) Catch up with an old friend.
You'll be happy you did.
XOXO,
B
