Windy Sunday Thoughts..

Well..what a week.

First, not one but TWO earthquakes tap New York. THEN we get slammed by Hurricane Irene (albeit a measly category one hurricane).

See, we're New Yorkers.  We're equipped for lots of things.  Blizzards, terrorist attacks, gangs, taxi rides..you get the idea.  What we are NOT equipped for is the earth beneath our feet moving for NO reason and the skies opening up and rocking our skyscrapers for NO reason.

Come on!

This is New York..we don't have these problems.  At least..we're not supposed to.

What is this, "The Day After Tomorrow"?  Come ON!

But thankfully, my loved ones are safe and sound - and beyond that, I can't ask for much more.  To all my friends up and down the east coast, I hope you're able to say the same.

Be safe, friends.  Live every day to the fullest - you never know what tomorrow brings.

Sitting here on this windy Sunday evening..taking stock of all the news reports of flooding and damage, I know how lucky I am.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Two years ago, my dad died at the kitchen table.  Like..literally keeled over and died.  And after a long period of uncertainty, he's home and well.

AND NOW.

Today he's celebrating his 71st birthday.  I'm blessed in so many ways..but most of all, I'm truly blessed to be able to celebrate one more birthday with him.

Life is so short, and everything can change in a heartbeat.  Be thankful for the ones you love, and the ones who love you.

Have a greay day..I know I am.

XOXO

Reality vs. Virtual Reality

Thanks to Bev, I've got the following to share with you:

"A few years into making the film, I started to recognize that this dichotomy was  false, that the virtual world is really part of the real world and they aren't  separate things. What ultimately matters to us is what's in our mind, and our  relationships that are in our mind. And if you can make meaningful relationships  in Second Life, then it's a very fuzzy line, really, between what's real and  what's not. They co-exist."

A little deep thought for you on this late Monday night.  :)

Guess..

..what season is about to start?

Yup.  :)  Jets training started - which means football season is coming, baby!  Let's go gang green.  We can do this.
